Angela Richardson

I have been doing agility for 11 yrs.  I started to learn with my tri-coloured collie Ella in a cold barn what seems like ages ago but I can still remember how cold it was even now!  Also we did a bit of fly ball back then but as I wanted an agility dog I decided to concentrate on that instead.  After 18months of training I decided to take the plunge and start competing at a proper show, Norfolk Agility Festival..  From this point on I was addicted and soon the caravan was packed every weekend to go to a show.    At 3yrs old Ella had a litter or pups and hence came my next agility dog Becks (black & white collie in the picture).

As soon as he was a year old I started the agility training and from 18 mths we were competing.  Becks is 8yrs old and we have several agility placings and a couple of wins in jumping.  Although he’s not the fastest dog out there he is consistent and that is what counts.  Then 3yrs ago I got my next agility dog, Noodle (brown & white collie in the picture).  She has been competing for 18mnths and has already achieved a couple of placings.

I have been obedience training for the past 8yrs from puppies upwards.  I have been on several courses the “Shelia Bailey pet obedience” course to name just one.  I have been instructing agility for just over 3 years and teach puppy obedience agility and elementary and Starter dogs(grades 1&2).  I have attended Steve Croxfords PACE-Agility Training Trainers course, been on trainer training days with Mike & Wendy Fairlamb and Enid Buckland-Evers and Lynne Shore. I have attended the Karen Perry Canine Massage workshop.  I have also trained with Empingham DTC regularly for the past 9 years.

I have been doing agility for just over 9 years, I started off with my first dog Louie (Louie Booluah In Your Face) in 1999.  She is the brown Staffordshire bull terrier in the picture.  We started off in a cold barn 9yrs ago.  When she was 2yrs old we did our first proper competition at Norfolk Agility Festival! We have competed in Medium and quickly worked our way from Elementary to Novice.  Then 4yrs ago I got my second agility dog – in the form of Staffordshire bull terrier Mia (Mahogany Girl).  Dark Brindle in the picture.  Again we started training as soon as we could, basic obedience first then agility training.

Mia started her first show and quickly won into Novice.  She won into Senior in 2006 and went to advanced in August 2007.  I have trained for Empingham Dog Training club for the past 6 years and have trained puppies upto novice / Senior level (Grades 1 to 5/6)  I have attended Steve Croxfords PACE-Agility Training Trainers course.  I have also attended trainer training days with Mike & Wendy Fairlamb and Enid Buckland-Evers and Lynne Shore.  I am also attending the Agility Club agility training course at the end of October.  I have had many influences to my agility experience, from training with Empingham DTC to private tution from many sources including our very own trainer Jo Richardson (who is an advanced handler & trainer)
